Mother's Day to me is being woken up at some time around 5:30 AM by two extreemly excited children who can not wait another second to give you your Mother's Day Presents. Although all you really want to do is sleep for another hour, you make yourself wake up, because they have no clue that you went to bed only four hours earlier because of a cookie baking fiasco that went horibly wrong.
Mother's Day to me is walking into the Living Room to find your kids being so sneaky peeking around the kitchen counter, and playing along when they jump out and yell "SURPRISE! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" when they see you walk into the room!
Mother's Day to me is being led to sit on the couch while my babies proudly bring me the gifts that they are so proud of!
Mother's Day to me is opening homemade gifts that I will treasure forever!
Mother's Day to me is opening gifts that my kids so excidedly picked out with their aunt and Grandma!
Mother's Day to me is listening to the songs that your kids make up especially for you on Mother's Day, and excidedly clapping at the end of each and every one!
Mother's Day to me is playing "follow the Momma" with your kids because your kids made it up just for you to try and make your day special in the ways that they know how!
Mother's Day to me is looking at the clock, and realizing that it is only 6:17, and you totally have time to go back to sleep, but instead you make your way to the kitchen and whip up a gourmet breakfast of scrambled eggs & toast!
Mother's Day to me is spending hours trying to get kids bathed & ready for church on time, while also trying to round up the things that you need for your Primary lesson, & getting yourself ready too!
Mother's Day to me is just getting started putting on your makeup when you realize that your son somehow got the little handle on your lufa stuck between the two parts of the faucet in your shower. It dooesn't take you long to realize that the rope is NOT coming out of there, and the water won't turn off until it soes, so you hurry to the kitchen, grap a knife, and saw that thing apart!
Mother's Day to me is getting back to putting your makeup on, when you hear your five year old daughter say "I need to put on my face for church" Knowing that this is code for "I'm gona put on make up now", and also knowing that she is already clean, and dressed for church, you drop what you are doing, and run like a mad woman to her room, just in the nick of time before she starts applying the bright green eyeshadow from her little play makeup bucket!
Mother's Day to me is finally finishing getting everyone, and everything ready, so you jump on Facebook for a second, and you don't have much time so you write a simple
only to scroll down and feel a little like scum because all you see all the way down is people with these long ELABERATE POSTS all about motherhood
Mother's Day to me, is having a mom who is willing to help you with your daughter's hair when you just can't get it to go the way it should!
Mother's Day to me is going to church, and spending the day with my family!
Mother's Day is listening to your kids sing Mother's Day songs on the stage with the rest of the Primary kids!
Mother's Day to me is being so excited about the flowers that your daughter picked for you durring her Primary walk around the building!

Mother's Day to me is not really having anything special planned for dinner, so you throw together some Hamburger helper
Then you feel builty for not being a "good mom" and cooking a healthy meal from scratch, so you atleast hunt down a can of carrots to go with it!
Mother's Day to me is letting your kids play with your hair! you end up getting soaking wet, but you don't care because they are having so much fun!
Mother's Day to me is playing round after round of Candy Land!
Mother's Day to me is kissing your kids good night, and sitting down to watch the movie that they gave you! You think the whole movie is fantastic, but the end catches you by surprise, and you end up bawling like a baby because the movie reminds you just how close Heaven is!
Mother's Day to me is jumping up with tears stupidly streaming down your face for no good reason, and running to find the sharpee that you hid from your daughter after she used it to draw a face on the closet door!
Mother's Day is struggling, but doing your best, to write your son's name in his shirt for a school project, and realizing that it is MUCH easier to write on paper!
Mother's Day to me is realizing that these precious little kids are a gift from your Heavenly Father, and realizing just how lucky you are that they are yours FOREVER!
